Plymouth’s history

They buried a car. It was a brand new platinum Plymouth Belvedere sports car. The fully functional Plymouth V8 sports car was chosen as a symbol of the state’s industrial creativity, said Lewis Roberts, chairman of the Tulsa Jubilee Commission.  Whoever can best estimate the number of citizens in Tulsa in 2007 can get the car as a gift in the same year. 812 responses were reproduced on microfilm and placed in the glove box of the car.

Burial in Plymouth

The beautiful Belvidere was then left in the capsule along with a 1957 Oklahoma memorabilia. For 50 years, everyone waited with bated breath because the time capsule was made of concrete so it could withstand a nuclear bomb. There was a lot of stuff left in the car from the time. Some of the items included lipstick, coins, banknotes ($2.73), a pack of gum, a pack of cigarettes and matches, a pack of beer, a bottle of painkillers, a parking ticket, an unpaid ticket, and a bottle of Oklahoma crude oil was also buried in the basement.
