It all started in Oklahoma, USA in 1957, when the city of Tulsa built a time capsule under the city’s courthouse to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the state.

In the event, known as “Tulsarama”, residents buried a small waterproof steel container for future generations in a very large concrete vault built on the principles of an atomic bomb shelter.
